Garden lighting design · Mallorca
A considered lighting plan turns a garden into a place you use every evening. We survey, design, specify and commission outdoor lighting for villas, fincas and terraces across the island.
What you get
Garden lighting design is the difference between a few spotlights and a garden that feels finished at night. We decide what deserves light, from which direction and how bright, then translate that into a precise plan with every fixture, accessory, transformer and cable run specified.
Because we also supply the products, the plan is realistic: correct quantities, compatible components and lead times you can schedule around.
01 · On site
The best time to plan garden lighting is while the house is still being built. Ducts can go in under paving, power points can be placed where they are needed, and wall lights can be fixed at the right height before the render is finished.
On a new-build stone finca in Mallorca we surveyed the garden during construction, measuring wall-light heights on the façade, checking views from the house and agreeing positions with the owners and builder.
02 · The lighting plan
This plan for a new-build finca combines a 12V in-lite system with smart control. Each letter is a fixture type, chosen for a specific job around olives, carobs, almonds, citrus, mulberries, palms and the pool.
03 · Techniques

Olives and carobs look best lit from two directions, showing both trunk and canopy. Shields keep the light source out of sight.

Light placed close to a wall and aimed along it reveals the texture of marès, dry-stone walls and rough render.

Low path lights and recessed step lights put light on the ground, where you need it, not in your eyes.

Pools, ponds and reflecting channels double every light. We use that, and avoid hot spots and glare on the water.

Down-light over the table, wall lights for orientation and portable lamps for mood, each on its own dimmable zone.

In-ground lights and small spikes bring out pots, agaves, sculpture and architectural planting.
04 · Process
A call or meeting to understand the house, the garden, how you use it and your budget.
Measured visit, photos and notes, ideally late in the day. Remote briefs are possible from plans and photos.
Atmosphere and priorities per zone, product directions and a budget range for approval.
Plan with fixture positions and codes, beam angles, accessories, transformers, cables and control zones.
Quantities, finishes and lead times from our supplier brands, ready to order.
We walk your electrician or landscaper through the plan, or recommend local installers.
We return after dark to aim every fitting, set dimming levels and programme scenes.
Seasonal checks, cleaning advice and extensions as the garden grows.
Who we work with
We work directly with owners and with the professionals around them. Architects and landscape designers use us for lighting layouts and specification; builders and electricians use our plans and schedules on site; property managers use us for upgrades and maintenance across several villas.
As early as possible, ideally while the house and hard landscaping are being designed. Cable ducts, power points and wall-light positions are far easier and cheaper to install before paving and render are finished. Existing gardens can of course be lit too.
Yes. For architects and remote owners we can work from CAD drawings, landscape plans and photographs, then verify on site before installation.
No. in-lite is excellent for 12V garden lighting and we use it often, but we also specify Roger Pradier, Il Fanale, Linea Light, Bega and other brands where they suit the architecture.
We return after dark when the installation is complete, adjust the aim and accessories of each fitting, set brightness levels and programme schedules and scenes in the app with you.
Yes. We often design the whole garden and install the main zones first, with cable and transformer capacity ready for the next phase.
