Infinity pool under uplit umbrella pines in Mallorca at dusk

Pool and terrace lighting for long Mallorca evenings

The pool and terrace are where summer happens. We light them for atmosphere and safety: soft light around the water, comfortable light for dining and nothing that glares into the view.

Around the pool

Light the setting, not just the water.

A beautiful pool at night is rarely about the pool lights alone. It is the uplit pine reflected in the surface, the faint points of light in the decking, the warm glow of the pergola beyond and the steps you can see without thinking about them.

We plan the pool, deck, loungers, outdoor kitchen and dining terrace as one picture, with separate zones so you can set a quiet late-night scene or a full dinner-party scene from your phone.

Deck and coping
Recessed points, low path lights and step lights.
Surroundings
Trees, walls and planting lit to reflect in the water.
Terrace
Dimmable down-light over the table and warm wall lights.
Control
App schedules and scenes, timers for late nights.

Ideas

Pool and terrace lighting ideas that work in Mallorca.

Boardwalk set with tiny recessed lights under pines

A starry deck

Small recessed lights set in a random pattern in timber or stone decking make a subtle path of stars to the pool.

Pines and cycads uplit around a resort pool, reflected in the water

Trees in the reflection

Uplighting the pines, olives or palms beyond the pool doubles them in the water and gives the view depth.

Dining under the pergola

Smart, dimmable spotlights mounted high in the pergola angle down onto the table; colour-tunable fittings let you warm the light late in the evening.

Outdoor lounge seating lit by small wall lights

Lounge and chill-out corners

Low wall lights, LED strip under built-in benches and portable lamps create comfortable pools of light.

Courtyard with palm and shade sail lit at dusk

Courtyards and shade sails

Uplight palms and climbers against white render; keep fittings off fabric and away from where people sit.

Stone steps lit by low path lights

Steps and changes of level

Terraced Mallorcan gardens need clear, glare-free light on every step and edge, especially near water.

Comfort

Warm, glare-free light that keeps the evening relaxed.

On a terrace you look across the light, not down at it, so glare matters more than brightness. We use shielded fittings, honeycomb louvres and low positions to keep the source out of sight, and warm colour temperatures that flatter skin, food and stone.

  • 2700K warm white as standard; tunable white or colour only where it adds something.
  • Light the table and the paths, leave the view dark.
  • Separate dimmable zones for dining, lounging and late-night swimming.
  • Fewer insects: avoid over-lighting and keep bright sources away from seating.

Pool and terrace lighting FAQs

Can you replace the lights inside my pool?

We focus on lighting around the pool: deck, coping, trees, terraces and pergolas. For underwater fittings we work alongside your pool company so both systems feel like one design.

Is 12V garden lighting safe near the pool?

Low-voltage lighting is the right starting point near water, but it must still follow the pool zones in Spain’s electrical regulations, including transformer position and IP ratings. We design to those rules and your authorised electrician installs the system.

What colour temperature is best for a terrace?

Warm white around 2700K suits most Mallorcan terraces, stone and planting. Colour-tunable smart fittings can add a candle-like warmth late in the evening or a party scene when you want one.

Can the terrace lights be on a timer?

Yes. App-controlled hubs can switch zones at sunset, at fixed times or by scene, which also helps keep lighting to the hours you actually use the garden.
